RIYADH — Brazilian star Neymar Jr. has bid an emotional farewell to Al-Hilal fans following the mutual termination of his contract with the Saudi Pro League club on Tuesday.
Reflecting on his short stint, Neymar expressed gratitude and a sense of admiration for Saudi Arabia’s journey toward its ambitious goals, including hosting the FIFA 2034 World Cup.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Neymar wrote: “To everyone at Al-Hilal, to the fans, thank you… I gave my all to play and wished we could have shared better moments together on the field.”
He also addressed Saudi Arabia and its people, saying: “Thank you for giving me and my family a new home and new experiences. I now know the real Saudi Arabia and have made friendships that will last a lifetime. I always felt your love and passion for the game. I will follow your journey as a club and as a country toward 2034. Your future will be amazing, and I’ll always be supporting you.”
Neymar’s time with Al-Hilal was hampered by injuries, limiting his appearances to just seven matches, during which he scored one goal and provided three assists.

The Brazilian star expressed his appreciation for the opportunities and connections he gained during his time in Saudi Arabia, vowing to remain a supporter of the country and the club as they pursue their future aspirations.
