HR ministry penalizes 23 employers for violating house workers’ regulations

Saudi ArabHR ministry penalizes 23 employers for violating house workers’ regulations

Arabian Weekly report

RIYADH The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) announced that it has imposed penalties on 23 employers for violating the domestic workers’ regulations. The penalties included slapping of fines and imposing a recruitment ban.

It was found that these employers committed violations such as providing their domestic labor services to a third party; allowing domestic workers to work on their own account; and assign them to do work that had not been agreed upon earlier.

The ministry also suspended licenses of nine recruitment offices due to their failure to adhere to the rules of recruitment practice and provision of labor services, including failure to refund financial amounts to clients and failure to resolve complaints related to employers dealing with these offices.

The MHRSD stated that these measures came within the efforts of continuous oversight and follow-up of the recruitment sector so as to ensure the implementation of the regulations and rules governing the practice of recruitment and the provision of labor services, which would preserve the rights of employers and further improve the sector through the Musaned platform.

The ministry indicated that efforts are underway to further develop the recruitment sector and provide multiple and qualitative services to improve and facilitate the quality of services provided to individuals and continue to develop the mechanism for handling complaints and disputes that may occur between the parties to the contractual relationship.

The ministry called on everyone to report any violations related to the recruitment sector by calling over the phone 920002866 or through the Musaned application available on smart phone devices.
